was looking for ice cream after our harbor cruise lol and Annabelle was just right across the street. there was a line but it moved fairly quick. Lots of ice cream options to choose from but I liked that they also have seasonal flavors and so I chose one from that list which was the Graham Central Station and of course the NH Pure Maple Nut. Both were delicious! Inside was a bit old fashioned and dark though so I appreciate the few outdoor seats that they have - Especially since my ice cream started dripping. Location wise, it was a bit busy in Ceres street that day especially since it's close to Moran Towing, restaurants and shops, etc so sometimes it could get a bit crowded and well..not the cleanest looking. Not their fault of course.
I was looking for an ice cream shop in Portsmouth and found Annabelle's listed. The Google maps lady had some confusion where it's located, but we found it. Thete was a bit of a line, but people in line convinced me it was worth the wait. The line moved quickly. A regular portion is two scoops and they were kind enough to do two flavors, in two cups. I had the Mocha Mud Pie (Mocha Ice Cream with Hydrox® Cookies and Pure Chocolate Chips) and my wife had the Strawberry and Cream (Strawberries in Strawberry ice cream). Both were very rich and creamy with terrific mouth-feel. The flavors are very natural tasting. Better than Ben and Jerry or Haggen Das. Highly recommended.
We were in Portsmouth for only a few hours but decided on some ice cream after lunch. Annabelle's did not disappoint! We had the NH maple, Dutch chocolate, and cashew coffee flavored ice creams in a cup. We sampled each others choices and all were amazing! Add in the friendly service and it's a well deserved 5 stars!
Peanut Butter Fantasy is really a Peanut Butter lover's fantasy! Two of us got Peanut Butter Fantasy and would highly recommend. Pro tip: don't be scared to put some peanut butter topping on your peanut butter fantasy! My wife got the Raspberry Chocolate Chip and it was also good... but since she didn't have any peanut butter I only had one bite of hers! It's a small place and the line can look long but it moves quickly and the service is very friendly!
We checked it out after a recommendation and overall it was good. We were able to quickly get our ice cream and there was plenty of seating. There were a variety of flavors available and pricing was fair. Overall not bad but didn't blow me away, however I would still go back. Please note it is located in an alley so there is no where immediate to park but we had no issues finding it.
